The Frog is a fun, lightweight, zippy mobility device developed by a parent!
If your child has difficulty moving on their tummy, the Frog could greatly enhance their success! Talk to your physical or occupational therapist to decide if this device is appropriate for your child.
TO BE A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR THE FROG, YOUR CHILD SHOULD…. • Be able to hold their head up for 15+ seconds • Be able to move their arms • Be at least 6 months old in order to be motivated to move forward • Tolerate being on their tummy (adjustments for traches, G or G-J tubes can be made to relieve pressure)
THERAPEUTIC BENEFITS OF USING THE FROG • Strengthens shoulder, neck, and back muscles • Allows your child to independently explore and develop sense of curiosity about their environment •Lets your child play with other kids at the same level • Because of how easily the Frog moves, it motivates children who otherwise have a hard time moving, to propel forward or backward •The Frog is very lightweight and works well on carpet, tile, wood, and in tight spaces.
WHAT SETS THE FROG APART FROM OTHER DEVICES •The position of the wheels can be adjusted to require more or less arm strength to move based on your child’s needs •The teeter totter of the frame over the wheels gives the child feedback to push through their arms • If your child is tired and wants to rest while on the Frog, they can easily tip forward by lowering their arms to rest their head on any surface
